California Traffic Control Devices Committee Meeting Minutes
The committee focused on agenda item 26-02, which concerned the proposed truck lane sign package for the Fix 5 Cascade Gateway Project in Redding. The committee discussed the operational strategy for the truck-only managed lanes, including the use of bypass lanes during peak hours and general-purpose access during off-peak hours. Members provided feedback on signage clarity, including the potential inclusion of exit numbers and highway shields. A motion was passed for Caltrans to proceed with the project, contingent on coordination with the Federal Highway Administration and consideration of committee comments, with the added authority for Caltrans to adjust signage after implementation as needed.

Sacramento Area Council of Governments Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan 2050
The US 50 Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan is a long-range transportation plan designed to create a balanced, efficient, and accessible multimodal transportation system along the US 50 corridor. The plan's strategic direction is built upon three primary goals: improving safety for all transportation system users, enhancing travel reliability within the corridor, and increasing multimodal travel options and access to destinations. It aims to achieve these by implementing coordinated strategies that reduce collisions, manage congestion, improve transit services, expand active transportation networks, and ensure equitable access to opportunities and a resilient environment.

California Traffic Control Devices Committee Agenda Item Report
The committee discussed a proposal to amend the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD) 2026. The discussion centered on removing Section 1B.02.P8 and the second sentence of 1B.02.P10 to eliminate ambiguity regarding the term 'discrepancy' when referencing the relationship between the CA MUTCD and other Caltrans supplemental documents, as the current language was found to be potentially contradictory for practitioners.
