The council meeting focused on workforce development strategies and an update on outstanding Tax Increment Financing (TIF) projects. The presentation highlighted the need to move away from a 'train and prey' model by utilizing local labor market data to direct training investments, fostering collaborations between educational institutions and employers, and integrating workforce development commitments directly into economic incentive policies to maximize economic mobility and return on investment for the community.
