Modesto Irrigation District Board of Directors Special Board Meeting
The board conducted a public hearing to discuss and consider the adoption of a new development policy and water operations fee schedule. The primary focus of the meeting was the need to recover staff costs associated with external development project referrals, which have previously been unrecovered and subsidized by ratepayers. The discussion covered the methodology for these fees, the goal of recovering at least 80% of service costs, and the implementation of a recurring annual review process to adjust fees. The board also addressed concerns regarding ensuring that agreements with other local agencies and municipalities appropriately allocate infrastructure and staff costs to developers.
