AITalks 2027

As large-scale generative and agentic AI systems have moved from experimentation to operational deployment, artificial intelligence has become a defining priority for federal agency leaders and U.S. policymakers alike. AI is no longer a future capability --- it is actively reshaping how government delivers services, manages risk, and advances its core missions. The United States now sits at a pivotal moment: competing not only to adopt AI at scale, but to define the rules, norms, and governance frameworks that will shape its global use. And under the Trump administration, federal focus has sharpened on sustaining and extending American leadership in AI to promote economic competitiveness, government effectiveness, and national security --- while ensuring these systems are deployed responsibly and in service of the public good.
